Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God

One of the greatest missionary William Cary has ones said:” Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God”

In Jesus Christ our Lord we want to do great things. But we all know that great things does not happen in a day. It takes time and efforts. Just like the crop in the farm. It takes lot of efforts, time and energy before farmer take the crop home. The runner in 100 meter race gets Gold medal in Olympics. But he or she has to do lot of hard work and practice before that happen. We also want to do something for our Lord. Paul tells Corinthians in I Cor 9:24-26 “Run in such a way as to get the prize”

We all know that our country need Jesus. We know that people are going away from Jesus. We know our children are growing up in a very ungodly atmosphere. The schools don’t want to talk about “God”. And if someone talk about their faith in public places, then he is being sued. Like we are living in a country where “Jesus’ name” is prohibited or crime.

What can we do? Can we just sit down and wait for whatever happen? Can we just sit down and do nothing?

Remember the early church. When Jesus was taken to heaven what were all the disciple and other followers doing?  Acts 1: 12-14. They were patient and they were praying. Then Holly Spirit came and thousands of people came to Christ. The church begin to grow. Even though there were persecution but it did not stop the church to grow. Today we are in time we have to do just that. Let us be patient and pray. Because when we pray:

·         We are showing everybody that we are one in Christ.

·         We are showing our faith in Jesus Christ alone and not any one or any thing.

·         We are waiting for God to work ( no matter how long it takes)

·         We are giving mental and spiritual strength to other believers.

Our God is an awesome God and when He works no one has the power to stop it. Let us continue to pray and let us keep faith that He will bring this country back to Him.

 

 

 

 

Come back America

“ A Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His Holy dwelling” Psalm 68:5

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them. Acts 4:32

Have you read the news about children dying in hot car? Have you watch news about thousands of immigrant children waiting on the boarders? Did you see so many elderly people crying for their medication? 

It has been happening more and more that political parties are thinking about “vote” and “election” more than people and america. I believe we have lost our senses who we are and what is our responsibility. Politician has become so much “vote oriented” that they don’t think about people anymore. If democrats are working for hispanic people, republicans will oppose them. If republicans are working for gay marriage issue, democrats will oppose them. Take the example of these immigrant children. They have been here since how long. They are away from their family. They are fatherless right now. But everybody is working on this matter to make “some people” happy. Can we not think about some special people group and help these kids to be with their family? Remember Bible says God is with them. 

Where is the compassion of the American people gone? We use to help our own and also to the world. Now it is all going away. It is more now whether they are our friend or our enemy.  If I do this thing will it help me elect next year in the election or not. And the bad part in all is that people  doesn’t care. No body is standing up for people. Everybody is just dragging them selves along with everyone. 

Where are all the ministers? Where is the word of God? Where is the message? Spiritual leaders became more of a “positive attitude” preachers. They are becoming “God bless me” preachers. Some of the other leaders are talking about abortion and gay marriage issues. TV and media love those things and so “Christian” people are now recognize on the based of this gay marriage issue. They are not recognized on the based of their faith in Jesus. They are not recognized on the based of their christian life style (which is much more than one or two issues.)

Matthew 6:33 says But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 

People it is the time to come back to Jesus. There are so many more important things to worry about right now. Our Lord’s coming is near and we are not ready at all right now. 

“Come back, come back,come back I cry. O people of God. Come back to Jesus your Savior and Lord;

He is your salvation and your redeemer and there is no other then Him.

Christianity and media

And I said, “Here am I. Send me!

Isaiah heard His voice. And said here am I send me.

There is peace in America. The stock market is going up. The house market is going up. The value of the US Dollar is going up. There are no political crises anymore. Everything is fine.

But is this a real picture? Are we as Christians look things this way? Is prosperity a litmus test for the spirituality? Bible says:

 ^“While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman” 1 Thessalonians 5:3

Wake up and be alert. Our enemy satan is very deceiving. He doesn’t want us to be awake and he wants all God’s people to fall in his trap. Look around and keep your eyes and ears open. Government is not the source of God’s awakening. It never has been. Today’s politicians are trying to make us think that changing gay marriage law is Christianity, or stopping abortion is Christianity. It may be the side product of it but real Christianity is following Jesus. Real Christianity is making disciple, real Christianity is telling others about the good news.

So make that decision today. Our dear Lord is still seated on the throne and He is asking” Whom shall I send? Who will go for me? Are you ready to say yes to Him like Isaiah did? Like Peter and all the disciples did.

Go and tell others about the real Jesus Christ not what the media is teaching them. Live your life like true Christ follower. And yes tell them to be awake and alert because He is coming very soon.

Where is your Faith?

Where is your faith?

Luke 8:22-25

On the boat, major storm, raining cats and dogs. But…….but Jesus was sleeping. What to do? Disciples were terrified. They tried their best to save themselves, after all they were fishermen and they knew what it looks like to be in the storm. Finally, they lost the battle and cried out to Jesus with frustration and fear. “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”
Jesus rebuked the storm and everything was back to normal. But one thing that was not normal is the expression of all the disciples. They were all in awe!!!!! To add to their misery Jesus rebuked them, “Where is your faith?”

The question is what kind of faith that Jesus is talking about? Was Jesus asking about their failure in keeping faith regarding miracle that Jesus will calm the sea?  Or is it that they have to keep the faith that Jesus will save them no matter what?

1)So many people wanted to see new president after last year’s election.
2)Same sex marriage issue to be resolved by Supreme Court.
3)Abortion laws to become stricter and stricter.

We are all praying for these things. We keep FAITH for God's miracle on these issues. But is this really we want? Do we just want superficial transformation by the political leadership? Will we be happy if this kind of things happen? Will this country be in better place if the Supreme Court says same sex is unconstitutional?

No, I guess not. I think Jesus will still tell us “Where is your Faith?

We want total transformation. We want heart transformation. Jesus told Nicodemus “You need to be born again” that’s what Jesus is looking for. When that will happen all the issues will be resolve automatically.

Let us pray for America with FAITH that God may bring transformation of hearts in this country. Let us ask our Lord that God may bring people back to Jesus.

When we pray

There are so many deferent types of thinking and traditions in doing prayer. Some say it is one's responsibility to pray, some say if you want to pray that’s ok but if you don't want to pray that's ok too. Some even say it's God's will that we should pray. And for some people it's just daily routine.

Jesus Himself taught us about the importance of prayer. He prayed long hours. Every morning He would go to quite place to pray. He taught His disciple how to pray. So there is a whole lot important thing about prayer.

 “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you” Mark 11:24

And this is the purpose of praying for revival in America. We pray with our faith and I know God has heard my prayer and your prayer. He is going to bring revival in America. Although it looks very difficult right now but it’s going to happen. It looks the country is going in the other direction but it’s going to happen. With all the killing and cheating it looks impossible but it’s going to happen. The force of satan is not going to win. Our God is the God of victory and yes He is going to win again. Our God is Awesome God and He is going to win, our God is omnipotent God and He is going to win, our God is a maker of all things and He is going to win. Satan is just trying to divert our mind by showing us the negative things but keep faith our Lord is bigger than all the negative things. He is the ruler of heaven and earth. Yes He is going to win. Amen and Amen

Keep faith and keep praying we are going to win the battle.

The little yeast

"You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you.  “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.”  I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty " - Galatians 5:7-10
I am sure When Paul wrote this thing he must have thrown bombshell on some people. But it is so true. And when we see our society today there are so many people that throwing confusion in people. Last week we saw a man was abused on the media because of his strong Christian belief. And to my surprise no one in the christian leadership level taking his side. Too sad.
The church of America was a missionary sending church. She was sending contribution to all over the world. The church was running good race but " the little yeast" started to work in our christian society and we have so much confusion and people started to live their life according to their own understanding. We do not have good spiritual leader who can stand for the truth.
"Lord we pray today for your mighty hand on America. Please create in us good spiritual leaders who can stand for the God's truth"

We are Christians

Let us be united in Spirit:
When trouble comes people can go to two different directions. Like when there is earthquakes, flood or any kind of natural disasters,or any kind of terrorist attack; people will say 'oh this is God's punishment'. But as a Christian person we can take different approach also. It is the time to be strong. The coming of our Lord is very near and as it is getting nearer and nearer these types of things will happen and it will happen in quick succession.
So our lesson from this is rather then fighting let us be strong in spirit. Let us come together in one spirit. These earthquakes or flood or anything are not going to remove our faith which is in Christ Jesus (our Lord and Savior).As Paul pointed out in Romans 8:35-36"Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation,or distress,or persecution,or famine,or nakedness,or peril,or sward?"
America was born on the very ground of that faith.This nation has shown everybody what 'Faith' is.
Let us be strong in spirit. Let us together hit big punch right on satan's face. We are not going to give up. We are Christians. We are winners. We are the children of the Most Holy God.
